Parents and Carers
We pride ourselves on working confidently with our parents and carers so that the learning journey our children travel along is shared and supported by the whole family. There are several formal opportunities to engage with staff in school in order to discuss your child's progress and well-being.
Just before children start school in Reception, our Class 1 teacher and teaching assistant make home visits to see children in their home settings. Many children who attend our local Pembridge Pre-School also come down to join our school for special occasions and to enjoy time in the classroom getting to know staff and routines.

Early on the autumn term, we have a 'Meet the Teacher' session where expectations for the year ahead are distributed to parents and there is an opportunity to have discussions with (new) class teachers. A report card is sent at the end of this term followed by an afternoon of meetings with parents. This briefly describes how your child shows the learning behaviours we talk about in school and tells you whether they are entering, working within or are secure in the objectives for their year group. A similar report card is issued at the end of the spring term with parents' meetings. A fuller report is sent to parents at the end of the summer term.
Of course, we know that regular informal discussions are really helpful and teachers are readily available, particularly at the end of the school day. Home/school link books are used effectively to convey important information.
We value the support that families give this school. Our successful Parents', Teachers' and Friends' Association has helped fund 'extras' which is great for all our children. The events they organise are also good fun for everyone! All are welcome. Please click on the PTFA tab for further information.
