Our French Learning Journey
Our Vision for French
Learning a foreign language is a necessary part of being a member of a global community and provides an opening to other cultures. A high-quality languages education should foster children’s curiosity and deepen their understanding of the world. The school has a fluent French speaker amongst its staff which enables an exploration of this language and its country in fun and exciting ways. Our teaching and learning helps our children to express their ideas and thoughts in another language and to understand and respond to its speakers, both in speech and in writing. We also provide opportunities for them to communicate for practical purposes, learn new ways of thinking and, as they become more proficient, read simple stories and other information in the original language. We aim to provide the foundation for learning further languages, equipping children to study and work in other countries of the world.
