Promoting Fundamental British Values
Weaving through all that makes for our successful school, we have chosen words from the apostle Paul who reminded the early Christians to “continue to think about the things which are good and worthy of praise. Think about the things that are true and honourable and right and pure and beautiful and respected. And do what you learned and received from me. Do what I told you and what you saw me do. And the God who gives peace will be with you.” (Philippians 4:8-9.) We believe that good and true things matter and that we respect and admire all that is beautiful and pure. We do not learn in isolation but from each other so that we may gladly give and receive God’s peace in all we seek to do. Our teaching and learning aims to enable children to develop their self-knowledge, self-esteem and self-confidence to be able to demonstrate British Values so that our whole community flourishes.
Our teaching and learning encourages our children to be familiar with and understand the significance of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and having mutual respect and tolerance.
